Class of 2012 Looking for Community Project Options
As part of the LSBC Curriculum, the LSBC class is required to complete a community service project to integrate the various lessons learned throughout the year. If you are an LSBC Alumni that works for a non-profit or knows of a non-profit organization that can benefit from this year’s project, please contact Mike Osborn, co-chair of the Curriculum Committee. Applications will be sent out the first week of October; please provide Mike with the name and contact information at the organization.
For more information on this project, past projects and current program information, please email Leadership Santa Barbara County or visit the LSBC website at www.leadsb.org.

President's Message
Greetings to all,
As I begin my final year as President of the LSBC Board of Trustees, I was recently reminded of the remarkable process that we call LSBC. I always like to participate in as many interviews of incoming class members as I can to get a feel for the class dynamics and class diversity (both in demographics and personality types). It is with these introductions that I make my own, often incorrect, assumptions regarding how I think the class will organize itself. These connections also help me remind me that the execution of the LSBC Program is by now out of our hands. It is extremely rare to have the opportunity to serve as a steward of an organization whose core is the very process itself. And by stepping aside, we allow the process, personalities and experience work independent of any external influence. The class receives a good deal of support from Alumni, local non profits, businesses and stakeholders in the various topics and it is here that LSBC makes its real connection to Santa Barbara.
I invite all Alumni to mark their calendar’s for this year’s Alumni Mixer to be held at the Canary Hotel. This location and event should be terrific. Also, it’s a great opportunity to touch base with other alumni, show your support for this year’s class by sharing your own LSBC experiences.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I hope to see you at one of this year’s many events or Topic Days.
Brian Schwabecher, Board President
