President's Message
Greetings to all,
September 23rd marks the beginning of Leadership Santa Barbara County's 21st year. With the help of the Advisory Council, the Recruitment Committee was able to put together an amazingly energetic, diverse and impressively dynamic class. I welcome all Alumni to attend each of the upcoming Topic Days and remind you that we are always looking for Alumni Advisors and volunteers for each of the topic day teams. Your participation provides you with an opportunity to network with the current class and the local leaders that help them present the expertise needed to plan, organize and execute their Topic Day and Focus Groups. Additionally, your personal support helps guarantee the great experience and solidify the bonds that we all share as Alumni, which ultimately keeps the program moving forward.
Also, as noted above, LSBC will celebrate our 20th Anniversary in grand style on October 8th. The board tasked Valerie Ellis' Alumni committee with an extremely ambitious goal: plan the biggest event in our history during our busiest time of the year. Our intent is to bring together as many Alumni as possible from each of the 20 years of Leadership to celebrate our great experiences, bonds, connections and personal growth made through the program. We also intend to raise funds for Scholarships to ensure the continued diversity and long term sustainability of the program. We know that our Alumni are extremely busy (we expect them to be!) but we hope all of you are able to join us at this momentous occasion. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I hope
you have a great fall and hope see to see many of you at
the 20th Anniversary event on October 8th.
Brian Schwabecher, Board President
